‘Tis the season for goal-making and resolutions. So, what better time to begin prioritizing your oral health than right now?
Obviously, you already know how important it is to floss and brush your teeth (for at least two minutes!) twice a day, but you still might not be brushing and flossing as diligently as you should be. Needless to say, this can lead to some pretty unhealthy results in the long-run.
Let’s be honest: Dedicating less than five minutes a day to a New Year’s resolution is pretty do-able. You 100% can incorporate a better-than-ever brushing and flossing routine into your day.
Here are three things that you can do to help ensure that this goal becomes a reality.
Utilize An App
There are plenty of excellent smartphone apps in existence that can help you keep up your new daily habit, so don’t hesitate to poke around and find one that will work for you. Partnering up is a great way to ensure that you don’t let your resolve fade away a few weeks after January 1st has come and gone. Find a willing participant to join you in your journey to better oral health and shoot each other regular reminders to continue to pick up the floss and your toothbrush two times a day!
Reward Yourself Every Few Weeks
Once you have successfully been brushing and flossing properly for a week weeks, take some time to mentally congratulate yourself. You might treat want to treat yourself to a new toothbrush* every couple of months, since replacing your toothbrush is something that you should be doing anyway.
