You have been brushing as per usual. You have been flossing religiously. And yet…you experience sore, swollen or bloody gums on a regular basis —or even once. What gives?
Well, it could be any number of things. Perhaps your toothbrush bristles are too rough. Maybe you aren’t as diligent about flossing as you think. Other possible culprits include inadequate plaque removal and hormone changes (among other things).
So, does this occurrence warrant a trip to the dentist’s chair? Hm.
Long story short, yes. There are quite a few oral health issues that may be to blame and you really don’t want to go on guesswork when it comes to your smile.
You should discuss this issue one on one with your dentist. That may not be the answer you were hoping for, but, again, playing it safe it always best, health-wise.
