Why You Might Not Be Brushing Properly After All

We are not going to bore you by droning on about the importance of brushing and flossing regularly, yet again. You likely already know how vital it is to keep your pearly whites clean.

That said, even if you are putting in your two minutes, twice a day, you may be compromising your oral health. How?

Many focus solely on their teeth. The problem is that the rest of the mouth requires a good scrub too!

Here is a quick guide to making sure that you are not accidentally ignoring certain areas,

Step One:

You may want to start by reaching for the floss and going to town, so as to dislodge left-behind food particles. Feel free to follow this up with a mouthwash swishing session, if you are so inclined.

Step Two:

Next, brush your tongue. Some like to also utilize a tongue-scraper at this point.

Step Three:

Do your regular brushing routine, ensuring that you’re reaching all the nooks and crannies.

Step Four:

Devote some time to your gums! Be careful not to apply too much pressure though. Easy does it.

Step Five:

Spend a few seconds on the roof of your mouth. You’d be shocked to learn how often people completely overlook this, actually. Again, no need to go crazy; use a light touch.

Step Six:

Spit out any excess toothpaste, rather than using water to rinse it away.
