Tooth loss is surprisingly common. What can you do to lower your chances of experiencing tooth loss? Glad you asked!
1. Wear A Mouthguard
Are you a health & exercise fanatic? Be sure to plop in a (customized) mouthguard before pumping iron/hopping on your bike/etc. Accidents happen, but your grin doesn’t have to suffer unnecessarily, right?
2. Visit The Dentist Regularly
Untreated decay or other oral health issues can—and often do—worsen considerably when ignored. Unfortunately, sometimes this means that you end up losing a tooth or two. Make it a point to pencil in an appointment at least twice a year (barring dental emergencies and as-needed procedures).
You can also do your smile a service by brushing and flossing twice a day, as well as staying away from foods and drinks that are packed with sugar or sweeteners. Oh and you should munch on tooth-boosting bites.
3. Don’t Overlook Cracked & Chipped Teeth
Chipped teeth need to examined by a dentist as soon as possible. You do not want them to further shatter or break, as this can may mean that you end up losing an entire tooth.
