Why You Shouldn’t Share Your Toothbrush With Others

Sharing isn’t always caring! In fact, swapping certain items can lead to oral infections.

Take, for example, your handy-dandy toothbrush. Lending this to others—yes, even your romantic partner—can spread bacteria and viruses between the two of you (you can actually pass them back and forth, reportedly)…and a very thorough before and after toothbrush-rinsing session won’t actually help to prevent this. Eek!

Now, you may be convinced that you and your potential toothbrush-lendee are completely healthy. But you cannot actually be 100% sure of this, right?

Why risk it, really? If your loved one is stuck without a toothbrush, suggest that they floss and use their finger or a piece of cloth to freshen up their smile for the time being. It’s not ideal, but it’s a safer option for all involved.
